A Labor Day View From the Paradise Overlook

Though technically within the boundaries of Ohiopyle State Park, the Paradise Overlook is only accessible through the trails of Bear Run Nature Reserve, which surrounds Frank Lloyd Wright’s Fallingwater. Heard from the overlook are the screams of whitewater rafters in the river below, and the voices of bike riders on the Youghiogheny River Trail, which is on the opposite side of the river. Bear Run Nature Reserve has several truly rustic and beautiful campsites that are widely separated from one another and can require several miles of hiking to access, but are free for use.
