Pictured looking over a field is the forest edge of the Quebec Run Wild Area, apart of Forbes State Forest. The wild area is undeveloped and a heavily forested 7,441 acre area stretching from Chestnut Ridge to Big Sandy Creek. It’s popular for hiking, fishing, and achieving natural solitude as well as backpack camping. Though this picture was taken in southernmost Fayette County, the autumn color here peaks as much as a week ahead of the northern portions due to a different forest type that stretches from here south through West Virginia. |
